HND Industrial Arts

Requirements for the Programme

A.      SSSCE Holders

1.       Five (5) passes (A-C) in three (3) core subjects, including English Language, Integrated Science/Core Science, Social Studies and Mathematics and at least two (2) elective subjects in General Knowledge in Arts.

Or

2.       Six Passes (A-D) in all subjects, including English Language, Integrated Science/Core Science, Social Studies and Mathematics and at least three (3) of the elective subjects in General Knowledge in Arts.

B.      WASSCE Holders

1.       Five (5) passes (A1-C6) in three (3) core subjects, including English Language, Integrated Science/Core Science, Social Studies and Mathematics and at least two (2) elective subjects in General Knowledge in Arts.

2.       Six Passes (A1-D7) in all subjects, including English Language, Integrated Science/Core Science, Social Studies and Mathematics and at least three (3) of the elective subjects in General Knowledge in Arts.

C.      GCE A-Level Applicants

Two (2) GCE A-Level passes in subjects including Fine Art plus four (4) credits at GCE O-Level including English Language, Mathematics Clothing and Textiles.

D.      Applicants with Advanced Painting and Decoration Certificate

Applicants must have five (5) credit passes at GCE O Level including English and Mathematics.

E.      Post-Secondary Teacher Applicants

Passes at the Post-Secondary Teachers’ Training Examinations in a relevant area (preferably vocational or Lifeskills).

F.      Mature Applicants

1.       Must be at least 25 years old

2.       Must have had at least two (2) years of relevant work experience

3.       Must have at least four (4) GCE ‘O’ Level passes including English or SSCE/WASSCE.

4.       Intermediate Painting and Decoration certificate and a pass in SSCE/WASSCE/O Level. English

5.       Teachers’ certificate A (4 years).

6.       Must pass a written examination and/or an interview.

G. International Applicants

1.       All foreign qualifications shall be referred to the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) for determination of equivalences and eligibility for admission to the institution.

2.       Applicants with WAEC qualifications can apply directly to the University.

 

3.       Evidence of proficiency in English Language will be required in the case of applicants from non -English speaking countries.  International applicants are also requested to acquire Non-Citizens Ecowascard as a pre-requisite for regularization of admission. International applicants who fail to provide evidence of having acquired this card will not have their admissions regularized.
