HND Fashion Design & Textiles

Requirement for the Programme

  1. SSSCE Holders
  2. Five (5) passes (A-C) in three (3) core subjects, including English Language, Integrated Science/Core Science and Mathematics and at least two (2) elective subjects in Clothing and Textiles or visual Arts.

Or

  1. Six Passes (A-D) in all subjects, including English Language, Integrated Science/Core Science and Mathematics and at least three (3) of the elective subjects in Clothing and Textiles or Visual Arts.
  2. WASSCE Holders
  3. Five (5) passes (A1-C6) in three (3) core subjects, including English Language, Integrated Science/Core Science and Mathematics and at least two (2) elective subjects in Clothing and Textiles or Visual Arts.
  4. Six Passes (A1-D7) in all subjects, including English Language, Integrated Science/Core Science and Mathematics and at least three (3) of the elective subjects in Clothing and Textiles or visual Arts.
  5. GCE A-Level Applicants

Two (2) GCE A-Level passes in subjects including Fine Art plus four (4) credits at GCE O-Level including English Language, Mathematics Clothing and Textiles.

  1. Holders of Advanced Fashion Certificate

Advanced Certificate in Fashion Certificate. Credit in any component will be an advantage.

  1. Post-Secondary Teacher Applicants

Passes at the Post-Secondary Teachers’ Training Examinations in a relevant area (preferably vocational or Lifeskills).

  1. Pre-HND (NABPTEX Access Programme)

Qualified graduates with a Fashion background.

  1. Mature Applicants
  2. Must be at least 25 years old
  3. Must have had at least two (2) years of relevant work experience
  4. Must pass a written examination and/or an interview.
  5. International Applicants
  6. All foreign qualifications shall be referred to the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) for determination of equivalences and eligibility for admission to the institution.
  7. Applicants with WAEC qualifications can apply directly to the University.

Evidence of proficiency in English Language will be required in the case of applicants from non -English speaking countries.  International applicants are also requested to acquire Non-Citizens Ecowascard as a pre-requisite for regularization of admission. International applicants who fail to provide evidence of having acquired this card will not have their admissions regularized
